PTFA

Welcome to Appleby Primary School PTFA page

What is a PTFA?

The PTFA is the Parents, Teachers, and Friends Association of Appleby Primary school. All parents, carers, guardians, staff, past parents, grandparents, ancillary staff, and Governors are Members and are welcome to attend meetings.

What does the PTFA do?

The main objective of the Association is to advance the education of pupils in the school. This can take the form of fundraising, arranging social events, like the Summer Fair, or assisting with school events.

Why should I get involved?

There are many reasons to get involved with the PTFA; making new friends; getting to know the school environment; helping raise much needed funds; and making a difference to the Primary School for current and future pupils.

How much time will I have to commit?

As much or as little as you like. Some people prefer to help on the day, at events, and some like to get involved with the Committee. There is absolutely no pressure.

How else can I help?

Don’t forget to shop using EasyFundraising. It’s easy and free and only takes a minute to sign up. Simply select Appleby Primary School PTFA, chose the retailer and shop in the normal way. The retailer then makes a small donation to our school at no cost to you! Visit our EasyFundraising page to get started: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk

Who is on the PTFA?

As mentioned, EVERYONE is a member, but our current Committee is:

President: David Spruce, Headteacher

Chair: Donna Park

Secretary: Joanna Burgess

Treasurer: Kate Adams

Committee Members include Nikki Birtles, Angela Dixon, Lynsey Fothergill, Emma Ingham and Katherine Teasdale

School Representatives: Terry Caygill and Natalia Matenzcuk

How do I contact the PTFA?

Please feel free to talk to any of our Committee Members or you can email the Secretary on ptfa@applebyprimary.cumbria.sch.uk

When is the next meeting?

We meet at least once a term; we are currently arranging the Summer Fair. We will also be holding our Annual General Meeting, soon after Term starts back in September when all the Committee Roles will be voted on and we will discuss our next fundraising project.

For more information, and for the next meeting date, please speak to a Committee member, the school office or email the address above.
