Forest School provides learners with the opportunity to engage with the natural world through practical experiences. It aims to promote holistic development for all involved, fostering confident, independent and creative learners. Sessions take place regularly in all seasons. It is structured to show progression in learning but centred around the learner. The emphasis on play is strong and practitioners support learners to achieve this. Learners are encouraged and supported in taking reasonable risks and through doing this they achieve, develop confidence and self esteem. These session are run by qualified Forest School practitioners.
Forest Schools is currently taught in Reception on Monday afternoons. The children explore the woodland at the top of the school and experience the changes in the seasons and weather throughout the year.
