English
As this is the last week of term we would like the children to look forward towards September. This week they will be creating an information booklet all about them to hand to their new teacher. If you are unable to print at home or prefer not to, your child can make their own booklet all about themselves, using this one for inspiration.
Spelling, grammar and punctuation.
If you are happy setting your child the phased spellings that we usually use in school, then please continue to do so. Otherwise, these are some commonly misspelt words that are in the curriculum for children to learn in years 3 and 4. The children have been given these spellings over the course of the last few weeks, I've attached the full list of spellings below, pick a few to test on at random each week to ensure they can spell them consistently, even when they haven't been studying them. There are also alternative spellings available in our fortnightly booster activities if you wish.
For our final week of term I'd like them to focus on homophones:
Where/ were/ we're
Their/ there/ they're
to/ too/ two
allowed/ aloud
ate/ eight
Get them to make a poster for each set of homophones like the one below, illustrating the difference in meaning.
Remember to spend time reading each day. If you have a book from home that you are enjoying reading then this is ideal. However, click below to access lots of our reading scheme books as e-books which you can read on a computer, phone or tablet.
A daily mathematics lesson is available via White Rose Mathematics. Please find this week's worksheets below. Lesson presentations are still available on the White Rose Mathematics website - Click on the link below:
