Appleby Primary School, like most other schools have a PTFA and we thought we’d take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you a bit about who we are and what our aims are!


We are made up of a committee of 8 parents and friends, working alongside Mr Spruce and all other staff to raise funds for the school. Our committee members are:

In normal times, we organise fundraising events like the May Fair, Christmas Fair, non uniform days, the Halloween disco, beetle drives, quizzes and coffee mornings. The money raised from these events is given back to the school on a termly basis where Mr Spruce and the staff decide how best to spend the money. In addition to this, we subsidise tickets and transport to the pantomime and other class trips during the year and we give a little money to Santa so that he can buy a small gift for every child at Christmas.


It goes without saying that none of these events could ever happen without the help and support from parents. You play a key role in donating, baking, and manning stalls and for this we always very grateful.


With the current climate, all of our events have had to be postponed. We did at least manage one non uniform day for Halloween and we’ve recently been contacted by Santa asking us to get a little something to each child before the end of term on his behalf, since he can’t visit in person this year.


Whats Coming Up…


With restrictions in place for the foreseeable future, it has proven tricky to plan ahead - we are usually discussing events for the Spring by now! However here is what we have planned up until February 2021…

How You Can Help..


When the world gets back to some sort of normality, we will need helpers at our usual events and we always need more people both behind the scenes and on the day. Please help where you can.
