Resource Provision Spring term 2024 - 2025

 

The children have begun to play table top games together and generally, the children will be working in groups with their peers to progress their learning. On Friday mornings the children will access the ICT room/library to engage with Maths and English developing their computer skills through using the mouse, spacebar and key control. 

 

Through a range of different contexts, the children shall be mark making and writing freehand to develop their pencil control.

In phonics we shall be focussing on the sounds s, a, t, p, i, n and m, d, g, o and c.

In maths we shall be exploring shape and number within zero to ten.

 

Every week the children will be invited to make play dough.

Developing a range of life skills, the children will be invited to engage with food preparation activities such as spreading, cutting and baking.

We shall also be exploring seasonal changes, the names and structure of common plants. We shall explore basic parts of human body and identify animals and what they eat.

 

This term we shall have fortnightly visits from the Sunbeams Music Trust, where the children through music and song can develop their holistic learning, communication, physical and emotional wellbeing.

The children will also have the opportunity to develop their sharing, turn-taking, numeracy and literacy skills while interacting and socialising with each other through the engagement of song. Additionally, this will encourage creativity, self-expression and increase self-confidence and self -esteem.

 

Weekly PE is an opportunity to join our class peers for a variety of activities. Outdoor kit will be needed-joggers and sweatshirt as some work will be completed outside.

 

Some children will be supported to access their afternoon learning with their class peers. Reception pupils are learning about puddles and rainbows. Year one and two are - learning about animal’s habitat and in art, watercolours. Years 3 and 4 are learning about animal’s diet, skeleton and teeth and in geography they are learning about rivers.

Year 5 and 6 are learning about North America and in science are learning about circulation.
