Resource Provision Autumn Term 2024

We hope you have all had a great summer. We are looking forward to seeing the children again and to supporting them with their learning.

The children will have 1:1 sessions in the morning in order to enhance their learning in Maths and English and we will incorporate targets from their Individual Support Plans into the children’s learning. Some of the children will have the opportunity to explore sensory activities.

Every Tuesday we will be completing life skills activities. We will be cooking, with an exciting range of dishes using different skills, tastes and textures linked to key calendar dates for example using apples from our school orchard, bread making linked to harvest time, poppy biscuit making linked to Remembrance Day.

Weekly PE is an opportunity to join our class peers for a variety of activities. Outdoor kit will be needed-joggers and sweatshirt as some work will be completed outside.

Some of the children will be supported to access their afternoon learning with their class peers. In year one and two this will be Geography- learning about the weather and how different places experience different climates. Science- Learning about materials, their properties and their uses.

In years 3 and 4 learning will be: Science- Materials looking at rocks and how they are formed and their use in the Stone Age.

Year 5 and 6 History will explore Ancient Greece and how Greek life and their achievements influenced the western world. Geography- Locate Greece on a European and world map and learn about its climate. Science- Identify the main parts of the human eye and describe their functions and recognise how light moves and shadows are formed.

Internet safety is paramount and will be discussed regularly with the children to support keeping them safe at home and school. Computing will continue with activities using paint programmes and using word for children in reception to Year 2 with children in Years 3-6 supported to follow their class targets and activities.
