Whats On: 

On Monday 13th April Spring term will start. 

On Tuesday 21st April James Davis will be visiting, if you have your own copy of his book/s you want signed, please bring them in! James will bring books for those who have ordered through School.

Thursday 23rd April: A small group of Y3's will be attending a Tag Rugby Festival in Penrith.

On Monday 27th April, we will be going to Blackpool Zoo! Please ensure that you have given permission for your child to visit, and they have a drink, waterproofs, a sun hat, and a snack for the trip, along with a packed lunch from home if not ordered through school. Children can also bring non-electronic activities such as colouring, reading and puzzle books for the trip if they wish. 

Wednesday 29th April: Eco-Warriors will be doing a Litter-pick around Appleby. Our two Class 2 Eco-Warriors will need to come dressed in comfy shoes and bring a raincoat. 

Thursday 30th April: Tag Rugby for Year 2, Penrith (TBC)

Monday 4th May: Bank Holiday

Thursday 7th May: Mini Tennis Competition for small group of Y3. 

Monday 25 to Friday 29th May: Half Term holidays

Cold Weather:

Please make sure your child brings a warm waterproof coat each day to school, along with a jumper. 

If they bring hats and gloves, please make sure these are labelled. 

We will still endeavor to go outside for PE, so please make sure they have warm labelled clothing for this.

Warm Weather:

Apply sun cream before school

Your child has a labelled hat

Your child has a fresh bottle of water (using the school bottles)

Homework

IN: Mondays (spelling) and Tuesdays (maths)

OUT: Mondays (spelling) and Tuesdays (maths)

Children will get 1 dojo point when they return their homework! 

We also encourage you to read regularly with your child, ideally every day, in order to increase their fluency and enjoyment of books. 

Running Clubs:

 Year 3: 

Tuesday: Years 3-6 Running Club 3:15 to 4:00pm every Tuesday until further notice. Pick up at Thanet Avenue Gate. Please contact the office or teachers if you would like your child to participate.

Year 2: 

Wednesday Lunchtimes: For Year 1 & 2's there is a lunchtime running club. Please let us know if this is something which they would be interested in, as there are limited spots. 

Lego Club: 

Lego Club Group 1 will have its last session on Tuesday 28th April. On Tuesday 5th May Group 2 will begin. Pick up is via the main entrance at 4.15pm. More details to sent out. 

PE:

PE kit consists of a non branded black hoodie and joggers, black shorts, and a white T shirt, socks and trainers. Children must remove earrings for PE, and need to be able to take these out by themselves. Please ensure all kit is labelled, so it can be easily identified.
